MIAMI HEAT vs. CHICAGO BULLS
Shaquille O'neal and the Miami Heat will try to avoid eliminations in the play-offs.Can they stay alive against Chicago Bulls with 3-0 standing in favor of Chicago?...
Hot Bulls put Heat to Freezing Point
Argentine swing man Andres Nocioni quoted during a post-game interview following their Game 2 win that his Chicago Bulls can't sweep the Miami Heat, but American teammates Kirk Hinrich and Ben Gordon and Sudanese stalwart Luol Deng all said to Nocioni, "Think first before predicting." Gordon garnered 27 points, while Deng and Hinrich scored 24 and 22, respectively, as the Bulls put the Heat to a situation that no one in 78 previous times made, coming back from a 0-3 deficit to win a best-of-seven series. In their first playoff home game since winning the title last June, star players Dwayne Wade and Shaquille O'Neal got some game going, making 28 and 23 in order, with Kazaam adding 13 boards, but a big second half siege, added by muffed free throws, got the win for Chicago, on their way to win their first playoff series of the post- Michael Jordan era. Jordan, Scottie Pippen, and Dennis Rodman spearheaded the club's last playoff series victory, a 4-games-to-2 win over the Utah Jazz in the 1998 NBA finals. The Bulls win snapped the winning streak of the Heat when leading at halftime in a playoff game to 26, the second longest all-time, leaving Miami 14 wins shy of the 2004 Los...
Oprah- The Worlds's Biggest and Smallest Dogs
Did any of you see this on the Oprah Show yesterday? The biggest and smallest dogs in the world. I have never seen anything like it before. The the big one stiffest the wee one it was so cute, she was not even as long as his nose. When traveling to the show on a regular plane he had his own seat. Both owners said they had never intended to have their pets grow to become the largest and smallest. What do you think of these guys? I'll post the photo of the big guy and then if anyone makes a comment I'll try and post the tiny baby. Gibson isn't your average 5-year-old. He holds the Guinness record as the world's biggest dog! When measured in 2004, this Great Dane was 42 inches from his paws to his shoulders…but his owner, Sandy, says he's grown over an inch since then! When Gibson is on his hind legs, he's 7'2"—that's an inch taller than NBA all-star Shaquille O'Neal. Now that you've met the world's biggest dog, meet the smallest. Brandy, a 3-year-old Chihuahua, is here with Jessica and her owners, Paulette and Brian. Tiny Brandy is about the size of a candy bar—and not even a king-size one! http://www.oprah.com/tows/pastshows/200704/tows_past_20070425.jhtml Photo: Oprah and the...
aside from michael jordan, who's your all-time favorite basketball player?
i'd pick charles barkley. he's not really a talented or skilled basketball player like michael jordan or isiah thomas and not as tall as kareem adbul-jabbar and hakeem olajuwon, but what made him stand out is his heart. he has great desire to win. he averages a constant double-double in every season despite standing only 6-foot-6. he uses his force and will to get through the paint and grab rebounds and he makes his own shots. plus he's a good defender too. he brings energy and tenacity to the court everytime he's in. and he's fearless too. he gets into guys like shaquille o'neal, karl malone and of course, dennis rodman.charles barkley proved that hardwork really pays off. he is the 1993 NBA MVP, outdoing michael jordan and led the phoenix suns to the 1993 championship, edging powerhouse teams like houston, utah and seatte in the west.
who's the best nba dunker of all time?
here's my picks:1. vince carter -- since his rookie year, vince carter has been drawing lots of attention. one of his highlights that i really love is during the 2000 olympics where he jumped right over the 7'2 frederick weiss of france. that was sick!2. michael jordan -- probably the most versatile player ever and he's best at everything he does, even dunking. aside from his usual MVPs, NBA titles and other awards, michael jordan is a great dunker too. whether its a breakaway or an over the back dunk, MJ can do it.3. shawn kemp -- the 'reignman' as he was called. he has posterized lots of NBA players, guards, forwards and even centers. whether he's on the recieving end of a gary payton alley-oop or doing it by himself, shawn kemp is always at his best4. julius erving -- the man who transformed dunking into an art. with his tremendous leaping ability, julius 'dr. j' erving turned dunking into an entertainment show during the 70's and 80's. for short, dr. j started it all5. grant hill -- dikembe mutombo, alonzo mourning, hakeem olajuwon, patrick ewing. these are just some of the players in grant hill's list. and what do they have all in commmon? they are all...
NBA playoffs open Saturday with Dallas, Detroit favored
by Jim Slater April 20, 2007WASHINGTON (AFP) - When the National Basketball Association playoffs begin Saturday, superstars will begin delivering answers to the questions that have been building around the league for the past six months. Can German superstar Dirk Nowitzki deliver a championship for Dallas? The Mavericks lost in last year's final but captured a home-court edge throughout the NBA playoffs by finishing with the best regular-season record at 67-15.Will Dwyane Wade bounce back from injury and join Shaquille O'Neal in making Miami a champion for the second season in a row? Wade suffered a separated left shoulder in February but returned to the Heat earlier this month.Have young stars such as LeBron James of Cleveland and Carmelo Anthony of Denver matured enough to guide their teams to the NBA promised land? Or can NBA scoring champion Kobe Bryant lift the Los Angeles Lakers back to a title? The biggest clues to these mysteries from the season that ended Wednesday were Detroit dominating the Eastern Conference, taking a home-court edge in the East at 53-29, and Dallas finishing six games ahead of Phoenix in the West.Opening round best-of-seven play...
Heat Snatches Division Title From Wizards
Three months ago, by the start of the year, the Washington Wizards were seven games ahead of the Miami Heat in the Southeast Division, leading to speculations that the Wizards could easily win the division title. However, after somebody's seaon-threatening injury, and the return of another, things changed. Dwayne Wade's rehabilitation from a dislocated shoulder and the return of injury-prone Shaquille O'Neal proved to everyone that the Heat can still play championship caliber basketball after all. They proved that when got a much-needed winning streak, mixed with some struggles of the Wizards and the Orlando Magic, and in an instant, the Heat just got the Southeast lead away from D.C. It was for good now when Miami subdued Washington earlier, 85-82 as the Heat won the series over the Wizards, 3-1. With the loss, the Wizards (39-39), still without Gilbert Arenas and Caron Butler, can only finish as high as sixth place, pitting up against third placers Toronto in a virtual playoff series.

Wade, Heat extend Celtics' losing streak to 16 games
Sixteen losses in a row. That's one for each of those shiny gold trophies the Boston Celtics have been lording over the rest of the NBA for all these years. The league's most decorated franchise, the Celtics extended their team-record losing streak to 16 games on Wednesday night with a 91-79 loss to the Miami Heat. Dwyane Wade had 30 points and nine assists as Miami went on a 19-2 run to erase a 12-point, first-quarter deficit and coast to its fifth consecutive victory."That's a team who's very hungry to get a win, and the world champions come in and you expect nothing but the best from them early on. So they came out the way we expected," Wade said. "We just had to weather the storm."Shaquille O'Neal scored nine points while playing 25 minutes as he recovers from knee surgery. Jason Kapono scored 19 and Udonis Haslem had nine points and 10 rebounds for the defending champions, who pulled within a game of .500 for the first time since they were 3-3.
